Species Details

This hybrid orchid is a very rare native perennial. It was discovered at Howe Green (SK0467) in 1975 by P.Torry. Surprisingly it has not been recorded since, as it is a fully fertile hybrid resulting from the spontaneous crossing of Heath Spotted-orchid (XXD. maculata) with Northern Marsh-orchid (XXD. purpurella).
