Species Details

Southern Marsh-orchid is an occasional native perennial of marshes, damp grasslands and fens, often in the context of disused gravel pits, quarries or industrial waste ground. It occurs throughout Derbyshire, though it becomes rarer on the high moors of the north and in the intensively farmed areas of the south. Typical sites include Coombs Dale (SK2274), Harboro’ Works (SK2355), Hilton Gravel Pits (SK2431), Holbrook Meadows (SK4480) and Golden Brook Storage Lagoon (SK4633).
