Species Details

Heath-grass is a tufted native perennial of infertile grasslands generally on acid soils though it does sometimes occur on soils over limestone. It is occasional to frequent in the South West and Dark Peak areas as at Coldwell Clough (SK0585) and Ashopton (SK1986). It is occasional to rare in the White Peak as at Wormhill (SK1273) and Biggin Dale (SK1458), but only rare elsewhere as at Dale Hills (SK4338) and South Street Grassland (SK3118).
