Species Details

Early Hair-grass is a native annual of dry open situations on shallow light soils. It occurs near rock outcrops, in acid grasslands and on heathy areas. It is recorded from Moorfield (SK0492) and Withens Brook (SE1000 v.c.58) in the north, through Mansell Sand Pit (SK2544) and Crich Chase (SK3452), to Bretby Park (SK2922) and Lock Lane Ash Tip (SK4831) in the south.
