Species Details

Deptford Pink is a very rare casual annual of dry grasslands, roadsides and disturbed ground. There are no recent records and only three previous ones. Clapham (1969) gives Ashbourne (SK1746), and Linton (1903) gives Edensor (SK27) and Renishaw (SK47). It has sometimes been considered native in our area but the pattern of records indicates otherwise. It is a native of southern Britain, and as a native is scheduled in various national conservation lists.
