Species Details

Foxglove is a native biennial or short-lived perennial of open habitats on well-drained acid soils, including wood margins, heaths, moors and waste ground. It is also often grown in gardens, and some populations probably represent garden escapes. It occurs very commonly throughout our area except for the limestone areas and the high moors of the Dark Peak.
