Dryopteris carthusiana x dilatata (D. x deweveri)
a buckler-fern
Species Details
This hybrid buckler fern is a very rare native perennial of damp acid areas in deciduous woodlands. There are no recent records and only three previous ones all from the 1970s: Hagg Rocks (SK2957), Breward’s Carr (SK3044) and High Peak Junction (SK3155). It is the hybrid of Narrow (XXD. carthusiana) and Broad Buckler Fern (XXD. dilatata) and is probably under-recorded.
