Species Details

American Willowherb is an established perennial of waste and cultivated ground, roadsides and riverbanks. It is frequent throughout our area except for the Dark Peak where it is only rare. Clapham (1969) gives a similar area of occurrence but records it as only "rare" with an added note to say "but increasing". It has clearly increased further since 1969 and not only locally but nationally as well. It is a native of North America.
