Species Details

Great Willowherb is a native perennial of wet areas at the sides of waterbodies, and of fens and marshes. It is very common and locally abundant throughout our area except for the Dark Peak where it is only frequent. This relative scarcity in the Dark Peak is probably an altitudinal limitation as the plant reaches its second highest locality in Britain at 365m in Derbyshire (Preston XXet al. 2002).
