Species Details

This eyebright is a very rare native annual of grasslands and heaths. Most recent records are from the Miller’s dale area (SK1472) of the White Peak with other records from the Dark Peak and the South West Peak (Goyt Valley SK0173 v.c.58). Previously it occurred occasionally over a wider area including Pebley Sand Quarry (SK4978) on the Magnesian Limestone, Ogston (SK3759) in the Peak Fringe and Snelston (SK1541) in the Southern Claylands. Much of this decrease is probably due to there being fewer local botanists who are prepared to tackle this difficult genus.
