Species Details

Buckwheat is a very rare established annual of waste ground, cultivated land and tips in eastern parts of Derbyshire {Hartshorne SK3321; Jordanthorpe SK3780; Stanton Gate SK4838, Cresswell SK5273}. This native of Asia was widely cultivated until the 19th century and since then has been introduced via healthfoods, bird-seed or Pheasant feed.
