Species Details

Hard Fescue is a tufted casual perennial of roadsides where it is introduced in grass-seed mixes. There are no recent records and only two previous ones (SK1371 in 1973 and SK2164 in 1974). Preston XXet al. (2002) record that the plants from Taddington in Derbyshire at 365 metres as holding the altitudinal record for this species in Britain. It is a native of Europe.
