Species Details

Fine-leaved Sheep’s Fescue is a tufted native perennial of grasslands heaths and open woods on acid soils. The sole recent record is for Wet Withens (SK2279). Previously it was recorded sporadically from Fairbrook near Snake Inn (SK19) for 1903 in the north of our area to Woodeaves (SK1850) for 1977 and Willington (SK3029) for 1977 in the south. It is probably under-recorded.

This plant is in Category 5a of the local Red Data List, 2009.
