Species Details

Hybrid Fescue is a rare native perennial of grasslands particularly on damp rich soils near rivers. It is recorded sporadically from Glossop (SK0393) and the River Rother (SK4481) in the north to Osmaston (SK1843) and Derby (SK33) in the south, but is probably under-recorded. It is the spontaneous hybrid of Meadow Fescue (XXFestuca pratensis) and Perennial Rye-grass (XXLolium perenne).
