Species Details

Common Cudweed is a rare native annual of dry bare patches in grasslands, heaths, waste ground and arable land.Records are scattered across the county from Beighton (SK4484 now modern S.Yorks.) and Steetley Quarry (SK5478) in the north, through Parsley Hay (SK1463) and Stancliffe Quarry (SK2663), to Drakelow Reserve (SK2320) and Robin Wood (SK3622) in the south. Apparently it has been lost from some southern sites {Birchwood Quarry SK1541, West Hallam SK4240}.

This plant is in Category 2 of the local Red Data List, 2009.
