Species Details

Forsythia is a newly established shrub of waste ground. The sole two records, both recent, are from Barlow Brook (SK3575) and Derby City (SK33). It is much grown in gardens for ornament, and is either a relic of cultivation or a garden throw-out. It is of garden origin from the crossing of Golden-bell (XXF. suspensa) with another forsythia (XXF. viridissima).
