Species Details

Alder Buckthorn is a rare native shrub of scrub woods and hedges usually on damp, often peaty, soils. It grows scattered throughout our area from Dinting Vale Wood (SK0194) and Whitwell Wood (SK5278) in the north, through Bradley Brook Marsh (SK2343), to Carver’s Rocks (SK3222) in the south.
