Species Details

Fritillary is a very rare casual perennial of waste ground and waysides. It also occurs planted in grasslands in natural-looking situations. All records are from the eastern and southern parts of our county as at Killamarsh (SK4682) and Carsington Water (SK????). Planted records are from Peasehill (SK4049), Tibshelf (SK4359) and the Rowthorne Trail (SK4863). There is a previous record from Morley Churchyard (SK3940) in 1981. It is considered native to southern England and as such is a Nationally Scarce species.
