Species Details

Gallant Soldier is a very rare casual annual of cultivated ground and waste land. It is recorded from Whitwell village (SK5276) and near Flagg (SK1369) southward to Woodville (SK3119) and Long Eaton (SK4933). It is sometimes grown as a garden ornamental. Clapham (1969) suggested the plant was spreading in the county but it does not seem to have done so.
