Species Details

Herb-robert is a native annual or biennial of woods, hedges and a range of open disturbed habitats, particularly on moist rich soils. Although very common throughout Derbyshire, excepting the high moors of the Dark Peak, it is most conspicuous as a pioneer colonist of limestone scree in the White Peak. Our plants are sometimes distinguished as subspecies Xxrobertianum and occasionally occur as the white-flowered form (Mabey 1996).
