Species Details

Hybrid Sweet-grass is a very rare native perennial of the margins of slow-flowing streams, ditches and ponds. It occurs scattered throughout our area from Oxlow Dam (SK1280) and Whirlow (SK3082) in the north to Alder Carr (SK2037) and Mickleover (SK3235) in the south. It is the spontaneous hybrid of Floating (XXG. fluitans) and Plicate Sweet-grass (XXG. notata) though it may occur in the absence of either parent.
