Species Details

Ploughman’s-spikenard is a native perennial of rock outcrops, open grassland, scrub and waysides, generally on base-rich soils. In the limestone areas, it is occasional both in the White Peak {Miller’s Dale SK1373, Cotterhole Quarry SK2656} and on the Magnesian {Whitwell Wood SK5278, Pleasley SK5064}. Elsewhere it is rare {Robin Wood SK2772; Ironville SK4450, Lock Lane Ash Tip SK4831}.
