Species Details

Bearded Iris is a newly established perennial of waste ground, waysides and tips. It has been recorded very rarely in our area from Beighton Marsh (SK4384) in the north, to Raynesway (SK3834) in the south. It is regularly grown in gardens for ornament and our records therefore probably represent relics of cultivation or garden throw outs. It is of garden origin.
