Species Details

Bulbous Rush is a frequent native perennial of a range of damp habitats in the South West and Dark Peak including marshes moors bogs and streamsides. Typical localities include Long Clough (SK0392), Axe Edge Moor (SK07F) and Upper Burbage Brook (SK2583). Elsewhere it is very rare, occurring in isolated areas of acid soils as at Muggington Bottoms (SK2843) and Carver’s Rocks (SK3222). Plants previously recorded as XXJuncus kochii are no longer considered as a separate species and are included here.
