Species Details

Round-fruited Rush is a very rare native perennial of marshes and wet meadows. Current records are from the Derby area {Darley Tip SK3538} and at Sandiacre (SK4836), but previously it was recorded from throughout Derbyshire except for the upland north and west. Unfortunately,it has undergone a similar national decline due to drainage and loss of permanent pastures (Preston et al. 2002).

This plant is in Category 2 of the local Red Data List, 2009.
