Species Details

Compact Rush is a tufted native perennial of grasslands, marshes, ditches and streamsides. Although frequent throughout Derbyshire, it tends to avoid the limestone areas and the more intensively farmed parts of the lowlands. Agricultural intensification has recently reduced its range in the south.
