Species Details

Soft Rush is a very common native perennial of wet grasslands, marshes, ditches, streamsides and flushes usually on acid soils. It is widespread and abundant throughout our county except for the limestone areas. Variety Xxsubglomeratus has been recently recorded. However, as only few botanists note its occurrence, the records for this variety tell us more about the botanists than the plant.
