Species Details

Garden Lettuce is a casual annual or biennial of waste ground and tips. The only two records, both recent, are from Hadfield Tip (SK0296) and Melbourne (SK3925). It is widely ground as a salad vegetable in gardens. It is probably of cultivated origin from the eastern Mediterranean.
