Species Details

Yellow Loosestrife is a native perennial of damp woods, stream-sides and fens, though it can occur in drier areas such as the roadside south of Litton in Miller’s Dale (SKXX). It is occasional in all areas (Glossop SK0294, Lumbsdale SK3160 and Linton SK2716) except for the Magnesian Limestone and upland moors. It has declined nationally in the last 30 years due to watercourse maintenance but there is no sign of such a decline locally.
