Species Details

Fringed Water-lily is a recently established perennial of ponds and lakes. It occurs rarely throughout the southern and eastern parts of our area from Beauchief Hall (SK3281) and Renishaw (SK4378) in the north, through Shipley Wood (SK4543), to Drakelow Power Station (SK2219) and Ticknall Quarries (SK3623) in the south. It is often planted for ornament but can spread spontaneously to nearby water bodies. It is indigenous to parts of southern and eastern England.
