Species Details

Small-flowered Evening-primrose is a very rare casual biennial of disturbed ground. This native of North America has only ever been recorded from six localities in Derbyshire (Hammersmith SK3951,Whittington SK3874, both in 1999, and more recently around LongEaton (SK4831,4835,4932,4935).This local appearance can be seen as part of a national trend, as up until 1962 it was mainly a plant of sandy coastal areas. However since then it has been increasing at inland sites.
