Species Details

Yellow Broomrape is a very rare perennial that occurs as a total root parasite on Yarrow (XXAchillea millefolium) and other members of the Daisy family. It is considered native here but is sometimes thought to be only a recent introduction (Stace XXet al. 2003). There are no recent records and only one previous one from Ilkeston Station (SK4642) in 1969. It is on the northern limits of its British distribution with us.

This plant is in Category 2 of the local Red Data List, 2009.
