Species Details

Wood-sorrel is a native perennial of woods, hedges and shaded rocks, and also of more open situations such as grassland in the uplands. It is common throughout the Peak Fringe, Dark Peak and South West Peak. Elsewhere it is generally occasional but absent from large parts of the White Peak plateau and the Trent Valley. It has a local name of Green Sauce (Grigson 1975).
