Species Details

Red Bistort is a casual tufted perennial of roadsides and rough grasslands. It is widely grown in gardens and usually occurs as a throwout or relic of cultivation. There is only one recent record for Alderwasley (SK3253), and two previous ones from Ashbourne (SK1844) in 1953 and Repton (SK3327) in 1958. It is a native of the Himalayas.
