Species Details

Reed Canary-grass is a native perennial in and by the edges of ponds and streams where it can form large stands. It also grows in ditches, marshes, carr woods and wet meadows, and even occasionally on rough and waste ground, It occurs throughout our area avoiding only the high moors of the Dark Peak. Subspecies Xxpicta is recorded from Fairfield (SK0674).
