Phyllitis scolopendrium
Hart's-tongue
Species Details
Hart’s-tongue is a native, evergreen perennial of a range of damp shaded habitats including woods, walls, outcrops and rocky banks. This fern occurs occasionally throughout Derbyshire, especially in limestone areas or where limestone has been introduced for walls and paths, in some cases actually arriving as plants with the stone. The BSBI's Local Change Survey found it to be increasing.
