Species Details

Ribwort Plantain is a very common native perennial of grass fields, waysides and waste places. It has been recorded from throughout our area except for the high moors of the Dark Peak. In the Peak District it has a local name of Chimney Sweep or Sweepers, no doubt alluding to the appearance of its flowerhead.
