Species Details

London Plane is large casual tree of roadside verges and parkland. It is commonly planted in urban situations due to its tolerance of air pollution but is very rare in more natural looking settings. It has been recorded for Trent Bridge (SK2522), Breadsall (SK3738), Brimington (SK4073) and the Spinkhill area (SK4578). Nationally it has a southern distribution with Derbyshire being on the northern edge of its range. It is probably of garden origin.
