Species Details

Intermediate Polypody is a rare native perennial of shaded rocks and walls of limestone and gritstone. It occurs mainly in the White Peak for example in Deep Dale (SK1670) and Carsington Village (SK2553), and on the Carboniferous Limestone ??outlier at Ashover, Butts Quarry (SK3463). There are also isolated occurrences off the Carboniferous Limestone as at Whitwell Village (SK5276) on the Magnesian Limestone, and at Allestree (SK3439) and King’s Newton (SK3826). It is probably under-recorded due to confusion with its close relative Polypody (XXP. vulgare).
