Species Details

Broad-leaved Pondweed is a native aquatic perennial with floating leaves that occurs on a wide range of still and slowly flowing waters including ponds lakes and rivers. It is recorded occasionally throughout our area from Hague Bar (SJ9885) and Upper Derwent (SK1889) in the north, through Mininglow Pit (SK2057) and Cromford Canal (SK3056), to Bretby Ponds (SK2922) and Forbes Hole (SK4932) in the south. It is our commonest Pondweed.
