Species Details

Perfoliate Pondweed is a very rare native aquatic. It grows submerged in still and gently flowing waters over organically enriched substrates. Current records are from the south-eastern area of the county (Straws Bridge SK4541, and the Trent and Mersey Canal SK3828). Previously it was recorded throughout the south and east of the county (Killamarsh SK4681, Cromford Canal SK25 and the River Dove SK2527).

This plant is in Category 5b of the local Red Data List, 2009.
