Species Details

Turkey Oak is a rare established large tree of woods, parks and estates where it is grown as an ornamental. It occurs scattered throughout our area avoiding only the White Peak (Chisworth SJ9992, Snelston Estate SK1542, John Wood SK4244 & Pleasley SK4764). It is a native of southern Europe.
