Species Details

Lucombe Oak is a very rare casual tree of parks and churchyards where its large size and semi-evergreen nature make it attractive as an ornamental tree. It is recorded for only two sites in our area, Cuthorpe Hall (SK3473) and Sawley Churchyard (SK4731). It is the hybrid of Turkey Oak (XXQ. cerris) and Cork Oak (XXQ. suber) which is of garden origin.
