Sherard’s Downy-rose is a rare native shrub of woods hedges scrub and waysides, in the northern half of our area. There are recent records from Rowarth (SK0189) and Bowshaw Farm (SK3479) in the north, to Biggin Dale (SK1458) and Longhedge Lane (SK4963) in the centre. It was previously also recorded further south, for example from Shirley and Bradley (SK24) in the 1880s.
