Species Details

Sanicle is an occasional native perennial of deciduous woods and other damp shaded localities. It is frequent on the Magnesian Limestone as at Bondhay Plantation (SK5078) and Pleasley Vale (SK5164). Elsewhere it is occasional from Tom Wood (SJ9993) in the north, through Priestcliffe Lees (SK1572), to Seven Spouts Plantation (SK3525) and Wicket Nook (SK3619) in the south. Previously it appears to have been more frequent in the lowlands of our area.
