Species Details

Confused Bridewort is a very rare, recently established shrub of waste ground, scrub and hedges. Records are scattered throughout the county from Blacka Plantation (SK2881) now modern S.Yorks. in the north, through Brackley Gate (SK3842) to Newhall (SK2920) in the south. Often planted for decoration, this taxon is of garden origin, from the crossing of Bridewort (XXS. salicifolia) and Steeplebush (XXS. douglasii).
