Species Details

Autumn Lady’s-tresses is a very rare native perennial of short grassland generally on calcareous soils. It was last recorded at Bonsall (SK25) in 1969. Before that, Linton's 1903 Flora gives records from Dovedale (SK15), Repton (SK23), Osmaston Manor (SK24) and Matlock (SK35). This local loss is mirrored by a national loss from many inland sites due to agricultural intensification or undergrazing.

This plant is in Category 2 of the local Red Data List, 2009.
