Species Details

Late Michaelmas-daisy is a newly established perennial of rough ground and tips. It is very rare in the western half of the county from Marple Bridge (SJ9890 now Gtr.Manchester), in the north, through Dove Holes (SK0777), to Ashbourne (SK1746) in the south. This garden ornamental escapes from cultivation by being thrown out with waste, and is of horticultural origin from the crossing of Glaucous (XXA. laevis) with Confused Michaelmas-daisy (XXA. novi-belgii).
