Species Details

This elm is a very rare native tree of copses and hedgerows. It has been recorded for four localities in recent times (Derbyshire Bridge SK07A, Flagg Moor SK16I, Bradley Old Park SK24L & Horsleygate SK37D). These records probably refer to subspecies XXminor while subspecies XXsarniensis has been recorded once as a planted tree in West Park (SK4833). Subspecies XXminor is probably under recorded as a native plant.
