Species Details

Heath Speedwell is an occasional native perennial of grasslands, heaths and open woods, on well-drained, moderately acidic soils. It occurs throughout our area from Heyden Bridge (SE0900 v.c.58) and Mosborough (SK4182) in the north, through Biggin Dale (SK1458), to Woodlands Field (SK3440) and Calke Park (SK3622) in the south. It was previously more widespread in the south and east of our area, from where it has probably been lost due to agricultural improvement of marginal land.
